What personal data we collect and why we collect it
At The Grape Escape we take your privacy seriously. We don’t share any information you provide us with any third parties.
When you buy something from us online or when you register as a member of our site we will store your email address, name & purchase history.
When you order online from thegrapescape.co.uk or register your details on the website, your name and email address are stored on our system, along with your purchase history. If you order a product online we will also save your postal address (so we can send your wine out for delivery) and phone number (to contact you in case of any problems or to sort out a bespoke delivery time). We don’t store your credit card information.
We collect Device Information using the following technologies:
“Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.
“Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
“Web beacons,” “tags,” and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.
If you register with us online (or opt in when you order a product) you’ll start receiving our email newsletter. We try our best to make our emails informative and fun. They include news about upcoming promotions, special or seasonal offers and useful information. We normally send only one email a month. There’s an “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of every email we send out – click that to remove yourself from our mailing list.
Want us to delete your data, or have any further questions on privacy? Drop us a line at email@example.com
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
How long we retain your data
When you place an order through the Site, we will maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below.
How we protect your data
All of the data that you entrust to us is held securely within our web servers. We do not share your data with any third parties and all payments are handled by Stripe. Stripe maintains the highest level of security on payment data, providing its payment platform to world-leading businesses such as Apple.
