Loire, France, 2018. The perfect light red, this fresh Gamay comes from the heart of the Côtes d’Auvergne in the Loire Valley. Grown on rare volanic soils which give superb minerality and freshness. It bursts open with a lovely ripe red fruit scent which follows through to a light and juicy mouthful of raspberry and red currant fruit.
Delicious served as an aperitif accompanied by a charcuterie board, or with spaghetti Bolognese or partnered with grilled red meats.
Sicily, Italy, 2019. Crisp and mineral with great depth and texture, from Nicosia's best, organically farmed vineyard sites. Pronounced and complex nose with savoury, nutty aromas and hints of fennel and white spice. Ripe and textured with lightly honeyed stone fruit, balanced by minerality and sappy acidity.
Ideal as an aperitif or accompaniment to seafood, sushi, fried fish and vegetable tempura.
Sicily, Italy, 2019. Found growing on the foothills of Mount Etna in Sicily, this variety represents outstanding value & is often compared to top quality Pinot Noir. This example is a great place to start if you havent tried the grape before, velvety soft with subtle perfumed notes & juicy black cherry, raspberry & spice across the palate.
Roast pork is an ideal pairing for Nerello Mascelese. Its also a great complement to Beef, Lamb & Pasta.
